Lunacy and Cowardice
This morning, Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America, threatened to destroy an entire civilization.
I don't have much to add to what I hope you have no doubt already read about this and about the war and the killing in Iran in general. But I do want to point out something.
Since Trump was reelected much of America's leadership class has bathed itself in the tar of cowardice in the face of his lunatic desperation. And make no mistake, Trump is desperate. We are witnessing the death throes of the MAGA movement. So Trump, Vance, Hegseth, the whole rotten cabal, are lashing out. If America's business, academia, and political leaders had stood up for real American values we wouldn't be where we are now, but they did not.
But people you don't know, average people in out-of-the-way places, are standing up. They will be the ones to drive the stake through the heart of Trump, Vance, and the rest.
Back in February, I wrote about two women in my hometown who ran for city council. I put a paywall around that because it was a reported story, but now I've dropped it, and I hope you will go to it now, and read it. Their example may give you a little hope in the face of Trump's degradation of our country, and the vast immorality we are witnessing today.
